Job Description:
  • The primary function of this hands-on position is to manage the Front desk, Breakfast Room, and Housekeeping and ensure quality customer service as well as oversee the daily service operations for hotel rooms and execution of contracts, deposits and billing
  • The Hotel Manager will assign duties and shifts to workers and oversees performances to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures
  • This position will confer and cooperate with other department heads to ensure coordination of hotel activities
  • The Hotel Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities that include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising employee performance and addressing and resolving problems
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, General Business or Marketing preferred and two-three years experience in the hospitality field or related area
  • Two-three years of supervisory experience preferred, preferably in the customer service industry
  • Will be required to have a CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills, multi-task skills, good management and supervisory skills, excellent guest relations skills, excellent time management skills, flexibility to monitor and adjust schedules, ability to work as a team player, possess strong knowledge of P&L statement, and computer experience is required
  • Prompt and regular attendance
  • Work flexible hours. The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work and overtime as required. The work schedule for this position will require a 50+ hour work due to fluctuating business demands. Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality that may include evenings, nights, week-ends and holidays.
  • Participate in all mandatory job training and meetings
  • On-call status
  • Physical ability to do the job duties as listed as essential functions. Must be able to push/pull up to 25 lbs. and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to kneel and bend at the waist
  • Wide variety of physical activity that may require focus on a computer or telephone work at a desk that may required typing dexterity, a clear speaking voice, an ability to hear clearly and sit for long periods of time
  • May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
