Job Description:
  • Operate special kinds of testing instruments and equipment as required
  • Work from complicated or detailed blueprints, diagrams, engineering orders, etc., to obtain proper specifications
  • May be assigned to various assembly inspection groups or to other phases of inspection of equal or lower level
  • Approve acceptable work or reject all work which fails to meet required standards and recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence
  • Recheck when corrective measures have been completed. In all cases inspectors must have had additional training and experience required to handle the more difficult and complicated phases of inspection work
  • Use inspector tools and equipment e.g. hand and marking tools, electricians and/or mechanics tools
  • Prepares inspection reports and related data as part of aircraft delivery process
  • Adhere to and follow the Quality Inspection Manual Process and other related policies, procedures and processes
Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of assembly inspection experience.
  • Assembly experience may be considered in conjunction with more than one year assembly inspection experience
  • Familiarity with using Personal Computers
  • Preferred Experience:
  • At least one year aircraft assembly experience preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of precision measuring instruments and special alignments
  • Physical Requirements:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee must be able to safely move parts and tools onto and off of the aircraft and to use/manipulate objects – such as tools and parts – with a high degree of precision.
  • Employee must also be able to safely access and/or work in all parts of the aircraft for the purpose of inspecting the assembly; this may require the employee to work in confined spaces and at heights, to perform overhead work, and/or to work from step stools, creepers, scissor lifts, lift platforms, and/or aircraft structures without handrails.
