Job Title: Services Navigator
Job Description:
- The Services Navigator is responsible for reception of phone calls and visitors to Monsignor Sigur Center, and providing referrals to the appropriate services. All employees are expected to learn and exhibit the core values of Catholic Services of Acadiana as defined in the employee handbook and on the CSA website (www.catholicservice.org/being-a-csa-employee).
- Duties will include but are not limited to the following: Monsignor Sigur Operations
- Serve as first point of contact for the public
- Direct clients to appropriate in-agency department
- Screen clients for qualification of services
- Familiarize clients with application process for services
- Provide outside referrals to other resources as needed
- Receive, organize, and distribute mail for homeless clients
- Screen clients for appropriate referral to possible shelter options
- Ensure restroom remains clean
- Ensure restroom supplies remain stocked
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, with two years of service coordination of related social service experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of homelessness and local resources helpful
- Experience providing services for low income individuals and families
- Experience providing services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness
- Exceptional problem resolution skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Job Specifications
- Medium: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 100% of the time.
