Job Description:
  • The Executive Director handles all aspects of the operation of the agency
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Works with the Board to align the purpose and programs to ensure that FHFA achieves its mission
  • Attends board of directors’ meetings and handles requests from the board of directors
  • Prepares annual budget for board approval and directs the financial operation of the center:
  • Reviews and approves/denies all expense items, payroll information and financial documents prior to publication
  • Oversee all personnel related matters, including but not limited to:
  • Hires and trains staff and promotes professional development of staff
  • Holds monthly meetings to get feedback on staff progress and any work-related concerns
  • Assists staff as needed with presentations, and their daily operations
  • Completes annual employee evaluations and determines salary and continued employment
  • Ensures that all contract deliverables are completed on time and works with staff to achieve this goal
  • Attends all meetings required to maintain program contracts
  • Plans, organizes and directs fundraising events and campaigns and pursues grant opportunities aligned with mission and purpose of FHFA
  • Maintains community outreach through social media and giving presentations to community organizations to inform public of FHFA services and disability related issues and events
  • Ensures all correspondence from FHFA offices is in line with mission
  • Joins and supports LaCAN (La Council’s Advocacy Network)
Qualifications:
  • We are looking for someone to lead our organization who has experience in the following:
  • Proven leadership with positive results in cohesive culture and efficiency
  • Supervising a staff
  • Fundraising and budget practice/implementation
  • Experience advocating for persons with disabilities, and disability legislative knowledge
  • A person who has a child/family member with a developmental disability
