Job Description
  • The Medical Technologist will work independently in conducting patient testing in a high complexity clinical laboratory
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 1pm to 10pm, rotating weekends, and rotating holidays
  • Report To: Laboratory Supervisor
  • Job Duties include:
  • Processes specimens, prepares reagents, performs testing procedures, reports and interprets test results
  • Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and references ranges for test methods
  • Works with Lab Director and Technical Supervisors to analyze results and conduct more difficult, non-routine tests
  • Assists the General Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, including ordering supplies and materials
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Reports test results to clients in a timely manner
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science or equivalent preferred
  • Must meet all state and CLIA requirements for unrestricted work as a Medical Technologist
  • All required certificates, licenses, and registrations must be in good standing
  • Minimum of two years direct laboratory work; experience in toxicology preferred
  • Practical/hands-on experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Experience with LC/MS and LIMS preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years clean and sober
