  • The Fugro R&D Feature Extraction team in Lafayette, Louisiana focuses on the development of automated feature detection and mapping software for offshore survey utilizing cutting edge development platforms.They are looking for a team-oriented individual who is passionate about data science, programming, and delivering quality solutions. Candidate must be a self-motivated independent thinker equally comfortable working individually or with a group of peers
  • Candidate will be responsible for gathering, extracting, and managing data for use in training and validating Machine Learning algorithms
  • Data management includes processing, cleansing, and verifying integrity of data used for training and analysis
  • Candidate will assist with development and validation of software to enhance Fugro’s proprietary autonomous and semi-autonomous survey systems
  • Development includes coding, test automation, debugging, profiling, troubleshooting, and documentation; utilizing version control, issue tracking, and continuous integration

Qualifications:
  • MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or other applicable field
  • Must be proficient in Python and any .NET programming languages
  • Experience programming with Machine Learning algorithms
  • Experience with programming on Windows
  • Working in Agile team environment
  • Candidate must have strong oral and written skills, capable of working in groups and independently, capable to learn new technologies quickly, effective ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Capable of translating user needs into system requirements, requirements into statements of work
  • While primarily an office based position, the responsibilities may require occasional travel to client locations for in-field trials and deployment of new systems
  • Preferred experience:
  • Object-oriented design, unit testing, TDD, test management, and Git
  • Programming with Deep Learning algorithms
  • Proficiency developing in Microsoft Visual Studies
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methodologies
  • Recommending data retention policies and best practices
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Selecting and integrating any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities
