Job Description:
  • ASV Global is currently seeking a Project Manager to lead unmanned vessel projects out of ASV’s Broussard, Louisiana based office 
  • We are looking for professionals who have acted as the lead project manager on $5M+ projects with a proven track record of success
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for upgrade / refit projects involving vessels that range from 30 feet to 200+ feet in length, with modifications to propulsion, controls, and electrical systems
  • The ideal candidate possesses an Engineering degree. Prior shipyard experience is a plus
  • Responsible for the planning, management, coordination, delivery and financial control of designated projects. 
  • Applying recognized best practice Project Management techniques in the delivery of projects assigned to you
  • Managing project team, delegating to office and field staff, and executing day to day activities of projects
  • Monitoring team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets
  • Organizing the technical team leaders working on a project
  • Recruiting specialists and sub-contractors
  • Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained
  • Risk and Opportunity management
  • Making sure the quality standards are met
  • Using the latest IT to keep track of people and progress
  • Managing project contractual and financial issues (including terms of agreement, changes in scope, billing process)
  • Reporting to senior management
  • Customer liaison
  •  Bid support where needed
Qualifications:
  • Five years + experience in a similar role
  • Experience with the marine industry from a defense, commercial maritime, or commercial oil and gas background
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build long standing relationships with clients
  • Proven track record of successful project management
  • Ability to manage projects of varying size, budget and duration
  • Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
  • Strong word processing and writing skills
  • A confident presenter
  • Very strong organizational abilities, oral & written communication skills
  • Self-directed, organized, systematic, punctual, and goal-oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Project management qualifications
  • Previous experience with shipboard maintenance and reliability
  • Degree in an engineering discipline; either mechanical, electrical, marine, or software engineering
  • Experience working with robotic and autonomous systems
