Job Description:
  • The Catering Chef is responsible for managing and leading a team of associates to oversee the cooking of all dishes at events, discussion requirements with clients, creating menus, preparing food, coordinating cooking staff, storing food properly and respecting safety and sanitation standards as it pertains to TCR and its events
Qualifications:
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs a high quality, cost effective general kitchen and food preparation operation in a catering environment.
  • Conduct training for personnel
  • Cook in quantity
  • Direct and coordinate food or beverage preparation
  • Monitor worker performance
  • Cook meals
  • Investigate customer complaints
  • Maintain production or work records
  • Price items on menu
  • Determine food or beverage costs
  • Modify work procedures or processes to meet deadlines
  • Schedule employee work hours
  • Direct and coordinate activities of workers or staff
  • Estimate materials or labor requirements
  • Assumes accountability should any assigned responsibilities fail to comply with applicable regulations or sound business practices.
  • Assures a high degree of sanitation is observed in all assigned areas and responsibilities.
  • Assists management in planning a variety of nutritionally balanced, attractive, and cost-effective meal menus.
  • Develops appropriate recipes and makes sure all required supplies, resources, and materials are purchased, ordered, and available when needed.
  • Documents (and carries out) personal positive steps regularly taken to implement an effective safety program.
  • Maintains excellent client communications to continuously improve the quality of provided services and resolve problems.
  • Conducts special demonstrations, unique events, or theme activities.
  • Oversee work progress to verify safety or conformance to standards
  • Plan menus
  • Requisition stock, materials, supplies or equipment
  • Resolve or assist workers to resolve work problems
  • Other related duties may also be assigned.
  • Physical Demands:
  • The catering chef is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands, and arms, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, push using arms and hands, stand, walk, and to sit. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
