Systems Support Specialist

Job Title: Systems Support Specialist
Full-Time

Job Description:

  • Manage and execute IT projects and maintenance tasks both internally and for clients 
  • Manage Apache, Nginx and MySQL servers (dedicated and cloud) 
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, including maintenance, testing, monitoring, alerting, and incident response 
  • Setup, maintain, renew, and troubleshoot services for clients and internal users, including DNS, domain registration, SSL certificates, and email 
  • Maintain and establish vendor relationships, evaluate expenses and new offerings, and manage vendor support tickets for services including Rackspace, Google, FreshDesk, Cloudflare  
  • Schedule and delegate WordPress updates quarterly for each client
  •  Coordinate the transfer of services for clients  
  • Analyze technical needs and provide cost estimates for service upgrades 
  • Train incoming team members on using internal systems and basic technical skills 
  • Evaluate and provide technical training initiatives for staff

Qualifications:

  • General understanding of online security and web safety  
  • Familiarity with WordPress or Joomla CMS  
  • Minimum two years experience with website management, web development, or server management 
  • Experience with Linux servers, database administration, or cloud hosting  
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot any number of server, email, DNS, SSL, security and similar technical issues 
  • Ability to respond efficiently during high-pressure incidents
  • Customer support experience preferred
