Job Description:
  • Network Management
  • Regularly convene the local cohort of Gigabit Hive grantees & other Mozilla contributors
  • Plan ongoing events, meet-ups, and calls that help cultivate a vibrant community of grantees and other contributors
  • Represent and promote this project at conferences, convenings and events such as Mozilla Festival, Mozilla Work Weeks, Maker Faire, and the US Ignite Summit
  • In collaboration with team members, form relationships with local and regional funding partners and pursue sustainability for Mozilla’s local network Serve as project advisor for funded projects and other network projects, helping develop assessment plans, evaluating progress, and offering feedback and advice
  • Share regular updates with your local network via newsletters, social media, and other Mozilla channels
  • Grants Management and Portfolio Development
  • In collaboration with the project team, manage all aspects of your city's Gigabit Fund grants process - including application solicitation, selection, distribution, assessment, and report tracking
  • Support local community members - technologists, informal educators, classroom teachers, non-profit leaders and others - in the development of fundable and successful ideas, proposals, and strategic partnerships
  • Link project teams to relevant local & national collaborators
  • Build and support project partnerships across Gigabit cities so that projects can spread and scale
  • Assist in preparation of grant reports and documentation for National Science Foundation and other partners
  • Document and analyze trends among grant-supported projects, sharing these projects and other local network activities broadly and openly through Mozilla’s global networks
  • Work with the project team to make sure supported projects are meeting all grant deliverables and guidelines
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of the local community, especially local educational landscapes
  • Experience in grantmaking, grant reporting, and/or grants management
  • Demonstrated ability to build community, create partnerships, convene groups and facilitate diverse contributors
  • Comfort with event planning and event facilitation
  • Ability to translate fluently between partners and collaborators from different sectors
  • Strong attention to both detail and the big picture
  • Commitment to collaboration and being a team player Willingness to travel to Mozilla events and other convenings
  • Excellent writing skills with a proven ability to share complex topics clearly and succinctly
  • Flexibility and willingness to work through challenges and ambiguity
  • A proven ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-paced environment
