Job Description:
  • Bell Helicopter is currently looking for an entry-level Aircraft Assembler for the Lafayette Assembly Center
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for aircraft assembly on the Bell 525 Relentless cabin
  • There is no relocation package offered with this position
  • All Team Members at LAC are expected to work together as One Team across functional boundaries
  • Where qualified and when possible, team members will participate in production activities, to include logistics and kitting, assemble and aircraft preparation to insure that a quality product is delivered on-time to the customer
  • This position will work 1st shift. 1st shift typically works Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (typically known as a 4 x 10's schedule)
  • The shift assignment could change at a later date, depending on production needs
  • Candidate must be able to work overtime when required by the production schedule
  • Position and assemble parts according to Integrated Work Instructions (IWIs)
  • Perform Operation Verification (OV) or log assembled products to Quality Inspection as required
  • Keep assemble department clean and free of foreign object debris
  • Keep Production Manager advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments
  • Have a high placed work ethic that is focused on safety and quality of the product
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • The employee must be able to safely move parts and tools onto and off of the aircraft and to use/manipulate objects-such as tools and parts- with a high degree of precision
  • Employee must also be able to safely access and/or work in all parts of the aircraft for the purpose of completing the assembly; this may require the employee to work in confined spaces and at heights, to perform overhead work, and/or to work from step stools, creepers, scissor lifts, lift platforms, and/or aircraft structures without handrails
