Job Description:
  • Direct Care Staff is responsible for supervising the operations of the shelter at night and on weekends along with providing support for service coordination
  • All employees are expected to learn and exhibit the core values of Catholic Services of Acadiana as defined in the employee handbook and on the CSA website
  • Supervise operations of facility in evenings/weekends
  • Secure facility in the evening, set alarm
  • Answer telephone and take messages observing privacy standards at all times
  • Screen facility in the evening, set alarm
  • Monitor smoking area and parking lot
  • Provide crisis prevention/intervention and supportive counseling
  • Ensure housekeeping tasks are performed by residents and facility is cleaned
  • Provide transportation when necessary
  • Contact on-call staff or director when an incident occurs that requires assistance
  • Remain flexible with respect to shift changes as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with the director
  • Be courteous and polite at all times
  • Document that clients have been accounted for on bed list, and leave written notice for the case manager is a client is not accounted for
  • Maintain pertinent information in the shift report
  • Document curfew infractions and report to appropriate case manager
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Two years experience in social service-related field
