Job Description:
- Direct Care Staff is responsible for supervising the operations of the shelter at night and on weekends along with providing support for service coordination
- All employees are expected to learn and exhibit the core values of Catholic Services of Acadiana as defined in the employee handbook and on the CSA website
- Supervise operations of facility in evenings/weekends
- Secure facility in the evening, set alarm
- Answer telephone and take messages observing privacy standards at all times
- Screen facility in the evening, set alarm
- Monitor smoking area and parking lot
- Provide crisis prevention/intervention and supportive counseling
- Ensure housekeeping tasks are performed by residents and facility is cleaned
- Provide transportation when necessary
- Contact on-call staff or director when an incident occurs that requires assistance
- Remain flexible with respect to shift changes as necessary
- Communicate regularly with the director
- Be courteous and polite at all times
- Document that clients have been accounted for on bed list, and leave written notice for the case manager is a client is not accounted for
- Maintain pertinent information in the shift report
- Document curfew infractions and report to appropriate case manager
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor
- High school diploma
- Two years experience in social service-related field
