Job Description:
  • Provides management for all aspects of data processing as per project. Act as a liaison with on board client representative and office staff with regards to acquired geophysical data. Manages additional data processors assigned to project. Promotes effective reporting of data quality to project management
  • Manage data processors assigned to project
  • Communicates with, Party Chief and project management details regarding quality and quantity of processed geophysical data
  • Provides all necessary reports and daily communications with regards to acquired data
  • Manages software licenses and network equipment to support the flow of data from acquisition to deliverables
  • Liaises with project manager to understand project specific deliverables, processing requirements and delivery timeframes
  • Supports the processing of all acquired data and the delivery to interpreter in format suitable for his/her use
  • Follows all written instructions and work procedures
  • Capable of trouble shooting of problematic data and support the communications of these problems to additional support mechanisms
  • Support all necessary hardware/software required to deliver data to shore
  • Support software and tools aboard vessels to facilitate data archiving
  • Drives a company vehicle, as needed, to provide support to field operations
Qualifications:
  • Technically capable to maintain healthy processing environment aboard the vessel
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills as it pertains to data quality
  • Thorough understanding of IT principles to facilitate trouble shooting and vessel infrastructure support
  • Have highly developed communications skills, including writing and speaking
  • Capacity to understand fundamental survey principles and how they impact data processing
  • Modify and/or create survey plan to accommodate project requirements
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of all software functionality to support complete project data delivery
  • Ability to meet necessary requirements to work in local and or international offshore environment
  • Minimum of a 2 year degree in a Technical, Survey discipline or equivalent job experience
  • 3 years’ experience with geophysical AUV / seismic and mechanical survey data acquisition systems; i.e., AUV operations, Sidescan Sonar, Subbottom Profilers, Seismic, Multibeam Echo Sounders. Must have a thorough understanding of Computer Systems, hardware and software
