Job Description:
- The Housekeeping Technician assists the department in providing quality service that positively impacts patient stay at the facility
- This will consist of providing cleaning services which duties included sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, wiping and cleaning with approved chemicals to all areas of the hospital
- Aspects of services include, but are not limited to, cleaning occupied and discharged patient rooms, sterile areas, clinical departments, offices, public areas, as well as floor care and carpet care
- Responsibilities also include collection of infectious waste and disposal of non-infectious waste, disseminating clean linen, stocking clean linen room and supply rooms and removing soiled linens

- Must be able to read and write in order to read labels and containers of chemicals used, order supplies, complete inventories
- High school graduate preferred
- Minimum of six months previous hospital housekeeping or janitorial or a minimum of one-year experience related (preferred)
- Good communication skills needed
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide housekeeping services appropriate to any age-related disability needs of the patients served
- Ability and willingness to supervise and work cooperatively with others
- Considerable, initiative and judgment involved leading housekeeping in providing an aseptically clean environment
